Star trails over the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, Mauna Kea Observatory, Hawaii.  The arcs are the paths followed by stars as they move across the sky due to the Earth's rotation.  The North celestial pole is at the center of the arcs, and Polaris is the short bright arc near the center or rotation.
